The Chevening Scholarship is a prestigious UK Government-funded program that offers international students the opportunity to pursue a one-year, fully funded master's degree in the UK. Please note that the eligibility criteria have changed since last year. To apply, you must be a citizen of and resident in Afghanistan, and meet the general Chevening eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Applicants must have at least two years of work experience (equivalent to 2,800 hours).

2. Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies you for a UK master’s program.

3. You are not eligible if you hold British or dual British citizenship, are an employee of specific UK government organizations, or have previously received UK Government-funded scholarships.

Required Documents:

1. Submit your education documents, including an undergraduate degree transcript.

2. Provide two references.

3. You must have one unconditional UK university offer by the stipulated deadline.

Financial Coverage:

1. The award includes university tuition fees.

2. A monthly stipend is provided.

3. Travel costs to and from the UK are covered.

4. An arrival and a homeward departure allowance are included.

5. Visa application costs and a travel grant for Chevening events are also part of the package.

Application Process:

1. The deadline for applications is 2 January 2025, at 11:59 (GMT).

2. Applications will be sifted for eligibility from 6 November 2025.

3. Shortlisted applicants will be notified for interviews by mid-February 2025.

4. Interviews occur from 26 February to 25 April 2025.

5. Results announcement from June 2025.

6. The deadline for at least one unconditional UK university offer is 11 July 2025.

7. Studies commence in the UK in September/October 2025.
