Afghanistan Rule of Law Observatory

The Afghanistan Rule of Law Observatory (ARLO) compiles information about developments in the justice system in Afghanistan. The ARLO website, ARLO.online, is the main user interface of the online observatory, and is available in English, Pashto, and Dari. The public website contains information about Legislation, Resources (CSOs Mapping, Rule of Law Initiatives in Afghanistan, and Legal Library) and opportunities. ARLO.online contains open-source information such as news about rule of law developments as well as research reports, analytical data, and assessments providing insight into the operating environment and legal landscape. The website also hosts legal education materials and a record of amendments to existing legislation and ratification of new laws and decrees. An additional password-protected portal hosts resources and information including capacity building materials, manuals, guidelines and reports.

Purpose

ARLO is an online resource hub primarily for non-state justice sector stakeholders such as civil society organizations (CSOs), individual legal service providers, donors, and international organizations. The primary purpose of the ARLO website is to provide easy online access to stakeholders of Afghanistan justice sector both inside Afghanistan and from anywhere in the world to information about the justice sector in Afghanistan.

CSO Engagement (how can you participate?)

ARLO’s Document Management System (DMS) is a password-protected portal that provides civil society stakeholders in Afghanistan the opportunity to share information about their work and access a range of resources for individual and organizational capacity improvement. The portal is intended to be used by CSOs and individual legal aid service providers working in the Afghan justice, rule of law, and human rights sectors. To gain access to the portal, please fill out the following form and click the "Send Message" button. An ALRO administrator will then generate a password and username, which you will receive by email along with instructions on how to log into the portal.
