The Chevening Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Fellowships are designed for mid-career academics and professionals dedicated to promoting an informed understanding of Islamic culture and civilization. This fellowship offers financial support for conducting independent research at the OCIS, University of Oxford.

Eligibility:

  1. Demonstrate leadership potential and influence.
  2. Have citizenship from an eligible country (list provided).
  3. Commit to returning to the home country after fellowship completion.
  4. Hold a postgraduate degree or equivalent professional training/experience.
  5. Have more than 5 years of professional and/or academic research experience.
  6. Demonstrate English proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS).
  7. Not hold British or dual British citizenship.
  8. Not be an employee or relative of an employee of the UK government or related organizations.

Eligible Countries:

Applicants from multiple countries, including Afghanistan, are eligible. Afghan applicants must reside in an ODA-eligible country such as Pakistan, Iran, or another eligible neighboring country.
