India offers 1,000 online scholarships to Afghan nationals for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) level courses starting in the Academic Year 2023-24. The initiative aims to contribute to capacity building in Afghanistan and is facilitated through the e-Vidya Bharati (e-VB) portal.
Funding
The scholarship will cover only the Tuition/OCF fee payable to the university or institute. No stipends or other financial assistance will be provided.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Applicant must have a valid National ID or Passport of Afghanistan.
- Age: Between 18 and 35 years as of July 1 of the academic year.
- Education: Must fulfill the educational requirements for the selected UG or PG course.
Application Process
- Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply by registering on the iLearn portal (www.ilearn.gov.in).
- After registration, applicants must apply for the specific UG or PG programs offered by participating Indian universities.

- The courses are entirely online.
- The initiative is organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
