"AUAF’s Division of Science, Technology, and Math (STM) will offer the third invitational STM Bootcamp program during Summer 2023, a program designed to support newly graduated female high school students as they prepare to enter university. The Online STM Bootcamp consists of an intensive three-week summer day camp.
AUAF’s Bootcamp will help students develop their core abilities in several STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematis)-related disciplines. Our goal is to assure that these students will transition into their university studies with motivation, academic preparation and skillset tools to succeed in the first year of college and beyond. Not only will Bootcamp students receive support from instruction, but also from confidence-building teamwork focused on growth in personal skills and strategies necessary for success at college and professionalization in the workplace. Ultimately, STM Bootcamp at AUAF will empower and encourage female students to take an academic minor or major in the STEM subjects of science, technology, or mathematics, while also helping the young women to become familiar with the future of STEM in the job market.
Our program is designed to provide comprehensive training in a variety of essential skills that are highly valued in today's job market. The bootcamp program will consist of eight sequences, each lasting three weeks. The first sequence will focus on introducing essential software tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, basic web design and graphic design principles, and English language training. In addition, the remaining sequence will include an introduction to high-level subjects/topics in STEM.
Participation criteria for the AUAF Bootcamp include:
