The University of Padua Research Fellowships support scholars at risk facing political or military crises globally. These fellowships enable scholars to continue their research in a supportive academic environment, promoting academic freedom and offering protection through the UNIPD Scholars at Risk program.

Key Details:

  1. Objective: Provide a secure setting for scholars to maintain and continue their research.
  2. Eligibility:
  3. Applicants must meet one of the following:
    1. Beneficiaries of temporary protection as defined in Decision EC 2022/382.
    2. Holders of residence permits for asylum or humanitarian protection.
    3. Recognized "scholars at risk" by Scholars at Risk (SAR), Scholars Rescue Fund (SRF), Council for At-Risk Academics (CARA), or self-declared in a situation of risk.
  4. Duration: 3 to 12 months.
  5. Funding:
    1. A three-month research grant of €5,000, renewable up to €20,000 for 12 months.
    2. Co-funded (50% by the Central Administration, 50% by the host Department).

  1. Host Department Application: Submit applications via the hosting department/center using the online form.

    4. Description of research activities.
    5. Resolution of the host department.
  3. Selection Process: A selection committee appointed by the Rector evaluates applications. The selection continues until co-funding is exhausted.
