The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) established the 1325 Scholarship in 2020 to honor the legacy of peacebuilder Zaida Catalán. The scholarship supports UN Security Council Resolution 1325 by empowering young peacebuilders dedicated to advancing the women, peace, and security agenda, among other peacebuilding efforts.

- Eligibility Criteria: Young peacebuilders early in their careers, demonstrating a strong commitment to women, peace, and security. Applicants should have at least two years of relevant experience in civil society and plan to continue working on these issues locally post-scholarship.
- Benefits: Scholarship holders will receive a basic allowance for living expenses, coverage of some overheads for the host organization, capacity-building activities, and a placement within a local civil society organization to deepen their knowledge and contribute to peace and security efforts.
- Placement Opportunities for 2024: For Afghan recipients the placement will be with Bytes for All (B4A) in Islamabad, Pakistan.
